Catching up!

Well...It has been a few days since I have been back to update my blog. I get so busy during the day between the kids and the laundry list of things I have to take care of for our family, I just don't have time to finish setting up my blog. :o}   Oh well...better than being bored!

The big news, at least to me... is my weight loss. As of  3/23, I have lost 62 lbs!!!  This program that I am on, Medifast (MF) is pretty amazing.  I have been doing the full on program 100% as of 1/12/10, but I did start using the supplements from MF since 1/1/10.  On New Years Day, I started drinking more water, eating healthy and using a couple of MF supplements to get my body ready for the shock of deprivation. lol  I lost 7 lbs doing that for 2 wks.
I can tell you that it has not been easy.  o.k....I love me some McDonald's just like the rest of ya!  I also had quite a bond with the Pizza man and his weekly deliveries.  Although, I was fooling myself when I would order from Jason's Deli, which they are famous for serving Organic Cuisine....lol    That's all good, if you eat 1 portion but we were eating enough for 2 meals. Yes, we...Nelson was enjoying right along with me.
So, now that I am eating well and losing weight...Nelson is too!  It's o.k. though. As thin as Nelson is he was starting to build a "tool shed",  if ya know what I mean. lol

Soon...real soon I am going to have to go out and buy some new pants. They are seriously baggin' on me.  I already bought a new bra three sizes smaller!!! and last weekend I bought new undies...2 sizes smaller!!   I feel so much better. I can sleep flat in the bed now. Before I had to sleep sitting up otherwise I couldn't breathe. I was in such denial about how much I weighed. I didn't even see it until someone took a picture of me and I could see how bad it really was. That's why I hate getting my picture taken.

Well, I will close for now. Enjoy the pics of my "kids" that I posted. I need to put up more when I have the time.

These are just a few pics of my Current & Previous Daycare Kids.
This is my very favorite Baby Picture of Charlotte. She was always giving us that big toothless smile which lit up the room. We thought Char would never grow any hair.

This is Charlotte on her 4th B-Day this past Saturday. She loves her Baby Rose Char is going to be a good little Mama some day, Just like her Mom, Jill!
This is our Lily.  As you can see by her baby pic above...She was so tiny when she came to us.  She was 15 months and ready to take on the world.
The pic to the Left is Lily at 4yrs when she started her 2nd yr at Pre-School. The pic to the right is Lily and her Uncle Nelson. They both absolutely adore each other. To Lily, Her Uncle Nelson hung the moon & stars. Once Nelson comes home from work, she is glued to his side, literally!!  She is growing up to be such an intelligent loving girl that we are so proud of.

This is my sweet little Man Logan. I have loved on Lo since he was a babe too. (see left pic)
The pic on the right is Lo at 3 yrs right after I cut his hair. The last pic is of Logan in early 9/09  just before he started Pre-School.  From the beginning, I called him "My little Pile-Driver"  He is so strong and active and doesn't stop moving, unless he is zonked out during nap time. Logan will be turning 4 at the end of this month!

This is my My Little Lucy. She is the Sister of Charlotte. I have a huge soft spot in my heart for this little one. She came to me as a little peanut and she is still a little squirt!!! :o)
Lulu grew hair a little sooner than Char so we can finally put a pony in her hair. She has always been a strong, independant baby. She loves playing dress up and holds ownership over a favorite hat and purse she wears mostly all day when she is here. The last picture is Lucy dressed up for Charlotte's B-Day party last weekend. She is Tinkerbell and I think it is so fitting for such a little angel (with an attitude!)

This is Kennedi. There is a full circle story with Kennedi. One of my very first Daycare Kids is Her oldest Cousin, Blake. Kennedi's other cousin is Brady. (pic above) I have loved and cared for all three children. It's been such a gift to watch them all grow up. Kennedi is 1 1/2 and she is my little cuddler. When she is done cuddling...watch out! She is a ball of fire!! She takes control of the playroom and makes all the other kids do what she says.  lol   She's also talking so much now. Kennedi is a heart stealer.

MORE PICTURES TO COME!!!

Finally..... a much needed update!

Good Morning all....
I'm backkkkkkkk!  I took a little hiatus from my blog because I had it redesigned.  Although it was a nice blog, it was not my vision. So, I hired a wonderful designer, Chelsea Stephenson at Aqua Poppy Designs. She is so incredible to work with and I enjoyed creating my new blog with her. Thanks Chelsea...You are the best!

Well, let's see....where to begin. As always, our lives have been busy with work and play. Our favorite thing to do on the weekends, is to go on all day road trips. It's so relaxing and it feels like going on mini-vacations.  Valentine's Day we took a drive to Urbana, which is on the eastern shore of VA. It was really cold and there was still snow on the ground. We had a wonderful lunch on the water in this little restaurant. It was so nice. Then we just drove around the town and found this awesome boat house on the water.

Daisy Mae in her hoodie and flannel undies. You can see by her face she is cold!!
Update on my Medifast Journey....... As of this morning I have lost a whopping 51 lbs!!! I am feeling so great for the first time in years. When people refer to others as having baggage, most of the time it refers to having emotional issues. Well, not me...It refers to my baggy clothing!!! :o)
Well.....until next time!

Happy Saturday!!

This weekend is my once a month, three day-er. Had a great Friday filled with appointments and going to a new groomer for Daisy Mae. She did a fabulous job and Daisy looks like a different and of course, more beautiful girl. This groomer knew what she was doing! She let me stay in the grooming room while Daisy was being beautified. I have never seen her dripping wet....she looked so sad and all she wanted me to do is take her home. It was fun to watch, although I held a 5 mo. old Apricot Mini Poodle the entire time. His name was Aslain. He was such a lover-boy and of course, Daisy whinned the whole time I held him.

Today, I had a full list of things to do, but my DH, Nelson had other plans...or should I say his upset tummy did! lol He became pretty ill and spent all day either in the bathroom (I know...TMI) or in bed. But, I did manage to get a Pedicure in and a run to Whole Foods.

Oh yes....and I weighed myself this morning to start the day off...and I hit my first big milestone.....30 lbs in 31 days!!!!! I did do the happy dance all day and I couldn't stop smiling. Everyone that I saw the past two days from my Pedicurist to my hair stylist and my Physician noticed the changes in me and that made all the work I have done this past month, worth while. I called my Health Coach, Cheryl to tell her first. I was so excited I had to call her! I have some pretty amazing friends that I have met thru the Medifast and Facebook boards. I just want to tell all of you how important your support is to me...couldn't do this without you!

Well, I hope you all are enjoying your weekend.

Hey Y'all......

Welcome to my first attempt at a blog. In December 2009, I hit a milestone in any woman's life that some consider the reason to hang up their attempts at a successful life and prepare for the inevitable trip to the retirement home. What am I talking about, you ask? The dreaded milestone of hitting age 50~~
Well, I had a whole year to prepare for that day. I planned, researched and talked with who ever I could talk to to help me make the decisions to how I was going to live Chapter 2 of my fabulous life.

The biggest hurdle I knew I had to overcome was my health. Being overweight my entire life, and trying every single program available in the USA, I finally found the life-preserver I have been looking for...     MEDIFAST!!!

First, I know it started with me...changing my mind-set, believing in myself and finally making the decision to change my health....for Chapter 2 of my life.
In the first 30 days being on MEDIFAST, I have lost 29 lbs!!! I checked in this morning with my wonderful Dr. just to be sure I was on the right track and if I needed to adjust anything to keep my success moving. He was so happy with my progress and so happy that I didn't decide to go the LapBand route. You see....In Oct. '09, I was desperate and willing to do just about anything to lose weight. He put me in touch with a Bariatric Surgeon and I was ready to get on the table and let them do what they had to do. I am so glad that I didn't go that direction.

Each milestone of loss, I will be posting new pictures to show my progress. I hope that you follow me and help me celebrate the new me I know I am going to be!
This blog will also be used to document the other ups & downs of life, Finding Joy In The Journey!!

This is our beautiful baby, Daisy Mae. As most know, she is spoiled rotten and is such a Daddy's-Girl!
